A customer recently shared an issue where TheFormTool’s internal files had been moved from their default location, then destroyed. Worse, attempts at fresh installations failed completely.
The customer had been using TFT for several years without incident. The failure occurred immediately after installing and running CCleaner for the first time.
The TFT Service Desk failed in its attempts to correct the situation, only the fourth complete service failure in more than 10,000 service calls.
The eventual “fix” required the customer’s IT support to completely clean the machine, reinstall the OS, all the programs, and the customer’s data. The customer’s firm has banned CCleaner from all its machines, an action with which we concur.
We recommend that our customers avoid using CCleaners to minimize the risk of damage to their TFT program installations and files.
